Terms of Service

1. Acceptance of Terms

By using QRGen ("the Service"), you agree to these Terms of Service. If you do not agree, please do not use the Service. We may update these terms from time to time — continued use after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated terms.

2. Description of Service

QRGen is a QR code generator that allows users to create, customize, and download QR codes for various content types. The Service includes a free tier (unlimited static QR codes, up to 5 dynamic QR codes) and paid subscription plans with additional features including expanded dynamic QR code limits, scan analytics, and API access.

3. Accounts

An account is not required to use the free static QR code generator. Creating an account is required for dynamic QR codes, cloud storage, and API access. You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your login credentials and for all activity that occurs under your account. You must provide accurate information when registering.

4. Acceptable Use

You agree not to use QRGen to:

• Create QR codes that link to malware, phishing sites, or fraudulent content
• Generate QR codes for illegal activities or content that violates applicable laws
• Abuse the API with automated requests that exceed your plan's rate limits
• Attempt to reverse-engineer, decompile, or interfere with the Service's infrastructure
• Impersonate another person or entity
• Use the Service to distribute spam or unsolicited communications

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these terms without prior notice.

5. Dynamic QR Codes and Redirects

Dynamic QR codes use our redirect service to forward users to your destination URL. We do not control or endorse the content at destination URLs. You are solely responsible for the content your QR codes link to. We reserve the right to disable redirect URLs that violate these terms or applicable laws.

6. Paid Subscriptions

Paid plans (Pro and Business) are billed monthly through Stripe. You can cancel your subscription at any time from your dashboard settings. Cancellation takes effect at the end of your current billing period — you retain access to paid features until then. Refunds are handled on a case-by-case basis; contact support@qrgen.app for refund requests.

When a paid subscription ends, your dynamic QR codes continue to redirect, but you lose access to analytics, API, and the ability to create new dynamic codes beyond the free tier limit (5).

7. API Usage

API access is available on Pro and Business plans. API keys are personal and should not be shared. Each plan has rate limits (Pro: 100 requests/day, Business: unlimited). Exceeding rate limits will result in temporary throttling (HTTP 429 responses). Sustained abuse may result in API key revocation.

8. Intellectual Property

QR codes you generate are yours. QRGen claims no ownership over QR codes created using the Service. The QRGen brand, logo, website design, and software code are the intellectual property of QRGen and may not be copied, modified, or distributed without permission.

9. Service Availability

We strive for high availability but do not guarantee uninterrupted service. Static QR codes generated through QRGen work independently of our servers and are unaffected by any downtime. Dynamic QR code redirects depend on our infrastructure — we target 99.9% uptime but are not liable for temporary outages.

10. Limitation of Liability

QRGen is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind, express or implied. We are not liable for any damages arising from the use or inability to use the Service, including but not limited to lost revenue, data loss, or business interruption. Our total liability is limited to the amount you paid for the Service in the 12 months preceding the claim.

11. Termination

You may delete your account at any time. We may suspend or terminate your access if you violate these terms. Upon termination, your data is deleted in accordance with our Privacy Policy.
